WHAT TYPES OF CLASSES ARE OFFERED?
At Ryu’s Martial Arts we offer traditional Tae Kwon Do classes for
children, adults and families. Classes are separated by age and level,
creating specialized classes that focus on the students needs. Each
class is instructed in a way to improve focus, coordination,

confidence building and an excellent cardio vascular work out. Family

together and to develop a special family bond by participating
together that not many other activities can promote.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
TAE KWON DO AND OTHER MARTIAL ARTS?
The various martial arts that are practiced in the US all
originated from different countries thousands of years ago: Karate
from Japan, Kung fu from China, Ju Jitsu from Japan. Each of these
arts having different forms or variations created through the years.
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that emphasizes kicking
techniques. There are two types of Tae Kwon Do, ITF (International Tae
Kwon Do Federation) and WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation), with the
major difference being the forms practiced. All other basic techniques
are the same. Due to the focus on kicking techniques, TKD can help
improve balance, coordination, flexibility, and endurance. Due to its
"pure" style, Tae Kwon Do is currently the only martial art that is a
sport in the Olympics and is one of the fastest growing sports in the
world.

AT WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN START?
Experience has shown that most children ages 4 ˝ (+) are able to
take the greatest advantage of Tae Kwon Do classes. Children ages 4 ˝
- 6 are able to participate in our Little Kickers Class. This class
covers exactly the same curriculum as Children’s class, but we found
it takes this age group a little longer to pick up the techniques both
physically and mentally. Children ages 6 (+) are able to participate
in the Children’s class.
CAN I DO IT WITH MY FAMILY?
Absolutely! Many students have found this to be the perfect family
activity. Both parent and child can attend their individual class

you the opportunity to work directly with your child to create a
special bonding experience.
