School Rules
Tae Kwon Do Dojang Rules
The Tae Kwon Do Dojang is a place to learn the basics of Tae Kwon Do. While in the Dojang, the students are required to follow the basic rules. The rules are enforced to maximize the effectiveness of the training environment, and to place emphasis on the development of the student's mind and body.
- Be punctual! Arrive 10 minutes early and try not to miss your scheduled class.
- Remove all jewelry, including watches, prior to entering the class.
- Remove your shoes when entering the Dojang floor.
- If class is in session, quietly kneel down in the back of the class and wait until Master Ryu acknowledges you to come and join the class.
- Always bow to the flags when entering or leaving the Dojang.
- Address the Master and students with the traditional bow. This demonstrates a sign of respect. Always answer the Master with a Yes Sir! Or No Sir!
- During training stay in the Dojang. You can not come and go as you please.
- If your uniform becomes out of place during class, turn away from the group and fix your uniform.
- Yell energetically, answer loudly, move quickly during training.
- You may not laugh or talk during the training session. No fooling around!
- When you need help, simply ask your instructor or Master, he will be happy to help.
- Keep the Dojang clean and replace all equipment after each use.
- You must wear a WTF uniform and keep it in clean and serviceable condition.
- Junior belts will show respect to senior belts, and senior belts will set an example for them to follow.
- Always maintain clean hygiene. Fingernails and toenails must be kept clean and short. Long hair must be tied back.
- Students must not be arrogant. Follow the rules of etiquette and set a good example for others in social activities.
- No gum chewing, candy or food allowed in the Dojang.
- Do not teach or demonstrate Tae Kwon Do outside of your school without permission from your Master.
- Never degrade Tae Kwon Do, the reputation of your school, or any member, instructor or Master.
- You must have prior approval to participate in any tournament or special event.
- Inform the school of any problems or injuries you had or have now.
Disciplinary actions will be enforced for violators of the above regulations. Penalties will vary at the discretion of Master Ryu. Such penalties could be possible demotion of rank, suspension or termination of training.
